I came across the article in the link recently, whilst its worthy in itself as an explanation of the ins and outs of the World Cup 2018 bid, it also reveals a couple of interesting things about Mr K W Bates.

World Cup 2018: English football must grow up and pull together or the bid is doomed

Whilst the accusation that Bates is pulling Dave Richards strings is the most germane its the liking for pink champagne I can’t get out of my mind. Its a wonder the South Stand doesn’t have a “Billy’s Bollinger Bar”.
